A well known 19th century map with fine hand-coloured vignettes.

From John Tallis' famous atlas "The Illustrated Atlas and Modern History of the World". The map has an appropriate border based on a Maori design. This decorative map is embellished with four vignettes - "Auckland", "Mount Egmont from new Plymouth", "Wellington" and a small etching of a Maori chief.
