Aeroplane View (looking East) of Christchurch, New Zealand [Reproduction]

This interesting drawing of Christchurch presumably would have been compiled from a selection of aerial photographs taken from an aircraft or even a balloon. Nowadays, of course, a similar scene could be produced using Google Maps and a laptop! The print is produced from a folding map published in Christchurch circa 1930. The detail is exquisite with streets and prominent features labelled. The absence of buildings on the Port Hills and in the East is very noticeable.
