This detailed map shows the stations of the Canterbury Plains and foothills of the Southern Alps. The cartographer, J.S.Browning, was an early surveyor after which Browning Pass at the head of the Wilberforce River is named. The map has inserts of Kiaipoi, Timaru and Christchurch plus Lyttelton Town and Harbour. An additional insert shows the position of Canterbury relative to the rest of New Zealand.
