Cook's chart of New ZealandAntique Print Gallery
This hand coloured copper engraved map is from the Hawksworth edition published on the return of Cook from his 1st Voyage. Course of the Endeavour is shown in orange. Surprisingly, Cook only made two cartographic errors - he showed Banks Peninsula as an island and he speculated that Stewart Island was a peninsula.
