This 1840 hand-coloured copper-plate engraving is plate 365, Greater Tooth-wort (Lathrœa squamarina), from British Phaenogamous Botany or Figures and Descriptions of the Genera of British Flowering Plants by William Baxter, a British botanist and curator of Oxford Botanic Garden.

Published in six volumes between 1834 and 1843, British Phaenogamous Botany featured 509 copper-plate engravings by Oxford glass painter Isaac Russell, and C. Matthews. The engravings were later hand-coloured by Baxter's daughters and daughter-in-law.

This print is in excellent condition, unmounted and unframed. The page size is 136mm x 226mm. The plate size is 108mm x 173mm, with the indentations visible around the edges.
