An attractive map pictorially but with many important features not marked. The provinces, including Westland, are shown in colour. Three inserts depict the Auckland area, Norfolk and Philip Island and an "Enlarged Plan of the country round Dunedin" with part of the Otago goldfields. There is also a "List of [18] Native Tribes". Scales in "English Miles" & "Kilometres". Mountain Heights in feet. Railways are marked. A previous owner of the original map appears to have marked the route of his or her travels. An emigration map originally folded in book form. From the collection of the late Dr. P.B.Maling.
